How It Began
Gems Ocean is built on decades of direct experience in the gemstone trade.
For over four decades, Mr. Siddiq Shaikh has traveled extensively across the globe, spanning continents, sourcing regions, and major trade markets, with a particular and enduring presence at the Tucson Gem Shows in the United States. Tucson was never just a selling floor; it became a cornerstone of long-standing relationships with customers who returned year after year, built on trust and consistency.
Sourcing, too, was never confined to a single origin. Mr. Siddiq, alongside his son, traveled across continents and countries with a focused purpose, understanding where the finest materials come from and what each distinct market truly requires.
After completing his business studies, Soheb joined the business and became actively involved in both sourcing and business development. He spent meaningful time in the United States, connecting directly with clients, participating in trade shows, and deepening the relationships his father had spent decades cultivating.
That hands-on experience brought a clear understanding: being closer to customers, in the markets that matter most, would allow Gems Ocean to serve them at a higher level. With that conviction, Gems Ocean was established with a dual home, New York, Manhattan, and Hong Kong, two of the world's most significant hubs for the gemstone and jewelry trade.
Since then, the business has grown steadily, expanding its reach while staying true to the same direct, relationship-driven approach that has defined it from the very beginning.
A Global Working Presence
Today, our operations span key centers of the jewelry industry.
In Jaipur, India, we operate two dedicated facilities. Our stone cutting and polishing factory prepares gemstones with precision and consistency. Alongside it, our jewelry manufacturing facility produces sterling silver, gold, and brass jewelry, with or without stones, including gold-plated, rhodium-plated, and platinum-plated finishes. From CAD design and casting to detailed hand-finishing, all stages are handled within our own setup.
This gives us better control over quality, delivery timelines, and flexibility in production.
Our presence extends through our offices in New York and Hong Kong, where we work directly with designers, retailers, and wholesalers. These locations keep us closely connected to global demand while ensuring clear and reliable communication.
