Pillar I – The Lapidary - From Rough to Resource
The life of a Gems Ocean jewel begins with a rigorous selection. Our first facility is dedicated to transform raw stones into vibrant gemstone resource. We curate a vast spectrum of nature’s palette under one roof, processing an exhaustive range of treasures, from the timeless brilliance of diamonds, rubies and sapphires to deep calm of amethyst and garnet and organic strength of turquoise, jaspers and opals. After meticulously sorting, stones are cut and polished into different shapes and sizes amplifying their natural beauty.

Pillar II – The Atelier – From Concept to Creation
After the quality assessment, our finished treasures find their way into our showroom or digital gallery, ready to capture the hearts of those who will cherish them. Many others continue their journey into our second facility where designs become enthralling pieces of jewelry – brought to life by a harmonious synchronization of precision technology and hand forged mastery. The Gems Ocean jewelry making atelier has both technical and traditional experts who provide the architectural and structural strength required for creating wearable pieces of art. It is a collaborative ground for designers, jewelers and gem-setters to work in unison to convert your dazzling reveries into jewelry masterpieces. The intricate process that begins with an idea, vision or imagination consists of three distinct phases:
Digital Precision: The Architects
Our technical experts translate your concepts into digital blueprints. This phase ensures mathematical perfection before any precious metals are used.
CAD Design Development – A 3D Model or digital architecture with precise measurements and accurate gemstone settings is created. High Fidelity Rendering – Photorealistic images in 2D and 3D are created to view the design from various angles showing depth, texture and the interplay of light. 3D Prototyping – Accurate, high-fidelity, 3D-Printed prototypes are made for fast design iteration, validation, stone settings and fittings.
Technical Foundation: The Foundry
Our specialists use the final 3D models to begin the transition into the final piece. This process includes:
Vulcanizing: The 3D models are used to make flexible and durable molds that encapsulate the intricate design. These serve as templates for making multiple casts in the future. Wax Model, Spruing & Wax Removal: A wax replica of the design is made using the mold. This is then attached to a sprue or a channel that allows molten metal to flow into the mold. The sprue structure is encased in a material called the ‘investment’. This is then heated in a process called ‘burnout’ to melt the wax creating a hollow cavity in its place. This cavity is then filled with molten metal. Casting: This is the pinnacle of the jewelry making process where the molds are finally cast into metallic form. The metals used can be gold or silver or any metal depending on your choice. It is not the final step but it is from here that the magic begins to take shape.
Artisanal Soul: The Master Craftsmen
This is the final process where traditional artisans breathe life into the metal with their skilled human touch. Each piece is handcrafted with utmost care using the traditional processes that include:
Filing & Surface Grinding: The casting remains and roughness are removed and the surface is filed and ground to give a smooth finish. Pre-Polishing: The piece is given an initial polish to ensure that the innermost areas achieve the prerequisite brilliance. Selection Loop: The stones to be used are selected from our lapidary inventory to perfectly match your requirements and the dimensions of the refined metal.
Final Stone Setting & Polishing: Our experts secure the stones into their metallic spaces. The piece then undergoes final polishing and rhodium plating, giving the jewelry its utmost brilliance.
Maintaining control from the first cut of the rough stone to the final polishing of jewelry, our two manufacturing facilities offer a great level of synergy. Nearly 250 master craftsmen form the core of our facilities within a fully integrated, in-house production ecosystem. Throughout the production process, our specialized team maintains constant communication with you, keeping you updated with total transparency while taking approvals and validations.
